The Reverend Nicholas Hatt

The Reverend Nicholas Hatt came to Saint Martin’s in September 2024. Previously, he was rector of the historic St George’s Round Church in Halifax, Nova Scotia and chair of St George’s YouthNet, which serves marginalized youth and their families living in Halifax’s inner-city. From 2008 to 2018, Father Hatt was Dean of Students at the University of King’s College where he also served as a faculty in holy orders and assistant priest in the King’s College Chapel, and as Rector of Church of the Holy Spirit in Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia. Father Hatt has a passion for urban ministry, especially working with people living on the margins of society. He has a particular interest in liturgy, the theology of conversion, and the Augustinian tradition. In his spare time, he enjoys running through High Park and along the lakeshore (while trying to dodge red-winged blackbirds), cooking for friends, and taking swimming lessons.
