Caleb Upton recently completed his MDiv at Trinity College, having previously earned a MTh in Biblical Studies from the University of Edinburgh. Passionate about the Bible because of his Evangelical upbringing, a lover of Anglo-Catholic liturgy, and a fan of Hip-Hop music, his interests are quite, let’s say, varied. As eclectic as his experience has been, ranging from preaching since he was seventeen years old to serving with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and working for the Canadian Bible Society, he has never aspired to anything other than to the love of God by proclaiming the truth of the Gospel, and love of neighbour by serving the needs of the Church and the world around him. He hopes that his academic background will serve as an asset (and not a liability!) for this ministry at St. Martin’s, especially as he walks with adolescents who are beginning to try to answer the ‘big’ questions for themselves. Furthermore, he has previous experience in Children’s ministry from his former context of the Baptist Church as well as from working as a tutor. Lastly and finally, in the midst of the COVID-pandemic, he has learned how to utilize technology well, including in the creation of YouTube videos at Based Bible, a weekly series on the Revised Common Lectionary.
